Is anyone missing school? If you were in Japan, you would still be learning. The children in Japan go to school six days a week. Monday through Friday, they attend for 9 hours, and on Saturday for 6 hours. If I have done my math correctly, that is 51 hours each week! . . . AND, they go to school year-round. It seems to me that the Japanese are going to be a lot smarter than we Americans. What do you think? The children all wear uniforms. It looked like the uniform showed what school they attended. Here are some pictures I took today of some of the children.
These children were walking to the subway to take the train to school.
It looked like this group of children was on a field trip. They were headed toward one of the temple shrines. They were quite quiet and were very respectful of their teacher. That was nice to see.
Did you learn something today? Good! Your next lesson will be "A Child's Look at the Ginza." See you tomorrow. Be good, be kind, be polite -- and don't forget your prayers!
