Singapore Island Country Club

We had a lovely dinner Saturday evening at at the Singapore Island Country Club.

We saw some monkeys with babies on the side of the road going into the country club.I guess they can be a quite a  problem on the golf course, but they sure were cute.

Our hosts - wonderful, generous people.

                                                          Our table, before service.

New foods I tried: roast duck, steamed sea bass, green papaya with red birds-eye chilis, woodear mushrooms, authentic fried rice, sticky rice with beans, ripe papaya,  pu er tea and steamed bread rolls. The only thing I did not try were the deep-fried tiger prawns. I do not care for shrimp, especially when the eyes are staring at you (pictured). In hindsight, I wish I would have tried it. Oh we'll, maybe I will get another chance.  Another fruit I tried earlier in the day was rose apple.
